On Saturday, September 21, 2019 the southcentral Pennsylvania region will experience an unforgettable, magical night at the Hilton Harrisburg. An Enchanted Evening at the Barre is an annual gala that benefits Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet’s student scholarship funds. Featuring fine food, signature beverages, experiential silent and live auction items, dancing and student spotlights, this event is one that you definitely don’t want to miss!
An Enchanting Design
To bring this event to life each year, CPYB’s development team, consisting of Associate Director of Development Asheleigh Forsburg, Development Manager Paige Ade, and Development Coordinator Shanna Adler, orchestrates innumerable behind the scenes details. With the support of event designer Blooms by Vickrey and audio visual experts Klock, the enchanted ballroom will come to life with sets from past ballet performances like Hansel and Gretel, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Sleeping Beauty, and more. Fireflies will dance across the floor and backlit trees will illuminate the walls.
Meet the Students
Throughout the evening, 33 students from Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet will perform to Some Enchanted Evening, choreographed by Alan Hineline, and Balancés, choreographed by Marcia Dale Weary. Of those students, 8 have been selected as ambassadors, and will be working with attendees during the silent auction portion of the evening. They will be adorned in costume and available for photos, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to get to know just a few of the faces of CPYB!
Going Once, Going Twice, Sold!
Perhaps the most exhilarating part of the annual gala is the live auction! This year, attendees will participate in a silent auction throughout the evening, bidding on items like gift cards, purses, and themed baskets, and experiences like goat yoga, axe throwing, a golf simulator, spa services, and local museum, theatre and orchestra tickets.
At 7 p.m., get your paddles ready — bidding at the live auction begins! We’re offering up some truly incredible packages this year, including:
- A cocktail party for 20
- A New York City weekend getaway
- A daylong cruise on a 40′ yacht
- A private dinner for 10 prepared by a former White House chef
- Tickets to the Miami City Ballet
- Tickets to the World Series
- A private Derby Day party
- A suite at a Hershey Bears game for 17, plus a round of golf for 4
- An around-the-world dining experience at Mangia Qui
CPYB’s goal is to give all children the opportunity to learn ballet, regardless of their financial circumstances. All proceeds raised during this event are directly funneled into scholarships for the students. This event is vital to sustaining the CPYB vision of changing lives through dance by bolstering the scholarship programs, which provide well-deserving students who are passionate about ballet the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
